In the case of corporate demergers, mergers or divestitures (merge & acquisition or M&A transactions), successfully separating an entity from the main SAP system (carve-out) requires specialized skills that ensure business continuity and data integrity. Our approach is designed to support companies in these critical moments, designing an independent system that complies with all legal and operational needs.

Benefits

Secure and compliant data separation

Business continuity during and after the demerger process

Flexibility to adapt to new business scenarios

The experience that Trilog has gained in carve-out activities allows us to approach these projects with a different methodology depending on the type of result that the customer intends to achieve.

CLONE AND DELETE

involves making a copy (clone) of the production SAP system and then deleting the data not relevant to the transferred business branch. The result is a new SAP system with only NewCo data. At the end, a new data update is carried out, with the NewCo’s SAP system exported to an external hosting.

SELECTIVE RECREATE

consists of the creation of a target ERP system different from the source one, with the customization and parameterization of the “target” SAP system. The data to be migrated from the source system is extracted and “translated” to the SAP target system.

SELECTIVE SHELL COPY

this approach requires the creation of a copy of the production mandate without data from the DB, in an instance renamed “shell”.  After this step, the programs will be customized and migrated, the interfaces, printouts and authorizations will be adapted and, finally, the data will be migrated from the transferred company.
